We are seeking new Board members!

Kensington Bellwoods Community Legal Services is looking for Board members to help renew and restructure the organization. The KB Board is looking for people who have the time and interest to reshape the community legal clinic in the downtown core.  We are celebrating our 40th anniversary this year with an eye to building a stronger organization to meet the legal needs of people on low incomes in downtown Toronto.

The Board is looking for people with change management skills who are able to build strong personal relations with staff, fellow board members, and community partners. People with legal and or financial skills are needed. The Board is particularly interested in people who work to embed an equity, diversity and inclusion strategy into the way an organization operates.

The Board meets on the fourth Monday of each month from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. There are currently four standing committees – Finance, Personnel, Policy, and Community Development. The main issue the Board is addressing is moving from a management board to a policy board and looking at either back office integration, merger, or remaining an independent clinic.

If you have a commitment to social justice and building a more inclusive community, you are encouraged to talk to me about this opportunity.
